Munhall is a borough in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania on the west bank of the Monongahela river. A large part of the Homestead Works of the Carnegie Steel Company existed in Munhall.
Munhall, along with the boroughs of Homestead and West Homestead, are served by the Steel Valley School District.
Munhall is in close proximity to downtown Pittsburgh (6 miles), the parkways, the south side and south hills of Pittsburgh. There are tremendous shopping, dining and entertainment opportunities at the Waterfront. It is close to Sandcastle Water Park in West Homestead, and Kennywood Amusement Park in West Mifflin. There are many affordable homes in the community and a lower tax rate than many other communities in Allegheny County.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 2.4 square miles (6.3 km2), of which, 2.3 square miles (6.0 km2) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.3 km2) of it (4.55%) is water.
