IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING YOUR TAX BILL
Our tax collector, Donna Mercuri, has discovered an error on the tax bills. Apparently, when they were printed, the discount listed for the Senior Tax Relief is wrong. Therefore, many senior citizens may feel that their taxes have gone up when in fact, they have not.
The senior tax relief credit is 10%. However, on the printed bills, it only came out at 2%.
The County is reprinting the tax bills and they will be mailed out mid next week and most should receive them by next Friday with the correct discount amount of 10%.
Also, you will only receive a yellow copy of your tax bill. In the past, you used to receive the green bill. The yellow bill is the correct copy to pay from.
If you would like a receipt, please be sure to include a self-addressed, stamped envelope.
NEW TAX OFFICE HOURS
The Borough Tax Office has new hours. Effective immediately, the Tax Office Hours are:
TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY
9:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Beginning next month, evening hours will also be available. The time for evening hours is T.B.D. |

Sewer Dye Testing
Do you have a question about a letter you received regarding a dye test? How about other questions relating to the sanitary sewer? Are you wondering what all of those trucks are doing on your street? If so, these questions can be answered by the Munhall Municipal Sewer Authority. An Important Note Regarding Freon-Containing Appliances...
The Borough of Munhall, in order to comply with strict Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection regulations governing freon-containing devices and the recycling thereof, is NO LONGER COLLECTING FREON-CONTAINING DEVICES. These devices include refrigerators, window air-conditioners, water coolers, dehumidifiers, etc. As a service to our residents, we previously collected these items. Because there is always the risk of freon leaking during the handling or collection of these items, we can no longer collect them.
If you need to dispose of a refrigerator, window air-conditioner, dehumidifier, water cooler or other freon-containing device, click on the "Appliance Recycle Logo" above to be directed to Appliance Disposal, an authorized recycler or call them at 888-GO-FREON or 888-463-7366.
They offer curbside pickup, in-home removal or drop-off. There may be a small fee associated with their services.
